Process

• May be either vacuum packaged or gas-flushed

• Partial gas-flushing (light residual vacuum) reduces stress on both the product and the packaging film

Packaging Film  

• Gas-barrier film is essential; higher barrier levels will provide longer shelf-life

• Materials often used include PA/PE (nylon/low-density polyethylene), PA/EVOH/PE (EVOH added for improved gas barrier), aluminum foil laminations
